Christmas officially begins in O’Donnell Square this Friday, December 8 as the lamp posts illuminate and neighbors gather for some Christmas cheer. Join the 11th Annual Lamp Post Lighting Ceremony (held rain, snow or shine) from 5 to 9 p.m. Browse local businesses, vote on your favorite decorated lamp post, and enjoy free hot chocolate or coffee. There will also be adult beverages for sale, a Santa appearance at 6:15 p.m., and a home brewers competition.

Holistic Holiday Pop-Up Market at Mount Vernon Marketplace

Looking for that perfect something for the holistic person in your life? Look no further than the Holistic Holiday Pop-Up Market at Mount Vernon Marketplace. Browse from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 9. Holistic Holiday features local artists, craftspeople, and food/beverage makers who offer sustainable and holistic products. There will also be a raffle and a few demos of Thai massage and acro.

90s Hip-Hop Night Themed Party at Knotty Pine

For a non-Christmas-themed event that still allows you to dress ridiculously, visit our favorite local watering hole, the Knotty Pine, and join their 90s Hip Hop Night this Saturday, December 9. Don your flyest 90s outfit from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. while the bar spins the hottest 90s tracks. There will also be drink and appetizer specials.

2017 Baltimore Krampuslauf in Hampden

Mischief-lovers should head to Hampden and join in on the 4th Annual Baltimore Krampuslauf this Saturday, December 9. The party will gather at De Kleine Duivel around 3 p.m. and leave on the lauf at 4 p.m. Join the crowd to prowl the Avenue spreading mirth and mayhem on your way to the Miracle on 34th St. before circling back.
