With the official arrival of fall comes the arrival of events with plenty to fall for: books, beer, deals, spirits, and more. Get ready to fall for it, Canton, because it’s the weekend.
Start your transition into fall atop the Natty Boh tower with a morning flow. On Saturday, September 23 at 10 a.m., join fellow yogis for a uplifting experience led by M.Power Yoga. Drop in rates are $25.
Book Worms Rejoice. The Baltimore Book Festival is back in the Inner Harbor this weekend with three days of exhibitors, booksellers, readings, signings, poetry, panel discussions, and more. Join other book lovers Friday, September 22 to Sunday, September 24 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and meet your favorite author or grab a new fall read. There will storytelling and hands-on projects for kids, street theater, live music, and (of course) food, beer and wine.
If beer is more your speed (or you like to mix beer with prose) head down light street to the Federal Hill version of Das Oktoberfest, this Saturday, September 23 and Sunday, September 24. Das Bier Haus is throwing a free, weekend-long party (there are no fees to enter). There will be a daily happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m., giveaways, a large selection of Oktoberfest beers, and extra perks for anyone dressed in Oktoberfest gear.
Canton Ace Hardware is showing its customers some love with its 5-year Anniversary Cookout and garage sale this Saturday, September 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It’s been five years since they opened our doors in our neighborhood. This Saturday, they’d like Cantonites to celebrate with them at their annual garage sale. There will be discounts on paint, pottery, patio furniture and more. Deals start at 10 cents and up. After filling up your cart, fill your stomach with free hot dogs all day as a thanks to customers.
One way to get into the fall spirit this weekend: head to Old Line Spirits in Highlandtown this Saturday, September 23 for a special, R.House-inspired event. Starting at 4 p.m. local chefs from R.House (Stall 11 and White Envelope Arepa Bar) will cook up some tasty eats at Old Line Spirit to go with rum and whiskey cocktails. There will also be live music.
