Summer love is in full blush this weekend, coming off it’s high from the Fourth of July. Whether you’re a pool-lover, brew-lover, crab-lover, baby (not the dancing kind) lover, or you just simply want to head back to the 60s to listen to some far out tunes, this weekend is full of events for you.

Summer of Love 50th Anniversary Show at the Creative Alliance

The Creative Alliance is celebrating the 50th anniversary of a magical time and place: the summer of 1967. Baltimore’s cosmic rock-and-rollers, the Fractal Cats, invite guests to help them celebrate an entire summer’s worth of music. Think tunes like Jefferson Airplane, Aretha Franklin, Jimi Hendrix, The Velvet Underground, Bob Dylan and Buffalo Springfield. The Fractal Cats will also perform an original set of music. The event kicks off on Friday, July 7 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 for members and $18 for non-members (+$3 at the door).

Update: Have dinner and drinks at The Chasseur prior, show your server your show ticket and receive an additional 10% off of your check!

Twilight Swim at Patterson Park Pool

Dive into the second twilight swim at Patterson Park pool this Friday, July 7. The party starts at 8 p.m. This event is  Mardi Gras / masquerade-themed so grab your masks (wonder if snorkels count?) The event is 21 and over and ID is required. Entry is $5 without a cooler, $7 with a cooler, and as always: no glass on the pool deck.

Rooftop Can Release Party at Monument City Brewing

Pineapple and mint might not be your go-to flavor combo, but it is pretty exciting when paired in a pale ale delivered by our local Monument City Brewing party. Join their Rooftop Can Release Party on Saturday, July 8 from noon to 5 p.m. The summer seasonal beer will be on draft or in cans, and (while supplies last) you can slide away with a free, limited edition koozie. Dinosaur BBQ will be on site serving up some smoky eats.

BARCS Annual Crab Feast at Jimmy’s Famous Seafood

Jimmy’s Famous Seafood hosts the BARCS annual crab feast this Saturday, July 8 at from 6 to 10 p.m. Benefit your furry friends while picking your favorite local seafood. The feast includes crabs, soup, coleslaw, corn, pit meats, BBQ pork, and other sides as well as draft beer and soda. Tickets for an individual are $65 and $600 for a table of 10. Downtown Partnership’s Stroller Strides Workout

Kids got you in a summer workout funk? Downtown Partnership has the antidote with a free workout class specifically for moms and kids this Sunday, July 9 at 9 a.m. Stroller Strides will be held in Center Plaza and is a 60-minute, total body workout that incorporates power walking, strength, toning, songs, and activities. Bring an exercise mat for ground exercises, plenty of water, and of course a stroller-sized kid! While the instructors will include interactive elements of fun during class, children in strollers usually enjoy toys, books, and snacks brought from home.
