There may be April showers, but there are also plenty of sunny, relaxing activities that can take up one of your final April weekends as well. Get the garden started, try some breweries, post-up by the water, and enter to win a massage. Relax and soak up the sun, Canton, because it’s the weekend.

Annual Garden Party at Ace Hardware

Everything is blooming in Canton, and your garden envy is likely blooming along with it. Never fear,  Canton Ace Hardware’s Garden Party is here. Join them on Saturday, April 22 and shop for 20 percent off garden supplies, pottery, and live goods. Gain a green thumb by joining in on some hands-on gardening tutorials, including urban container gardening and seed starting. There will also be a potting station, a cookout, and a raffle.

Grand Opening at Monument City Brewing Company

If you haven’t tasted the suds at the new neighborhood location of Monument City Brewing Company, stroll over to their Grand Opening event this Saturday, April 22 from noon to 7 p.m. Grab a pint, and enjoy the afternoon with live music from three different bands. Food offerings will be available from Snake Hill, The Local Oyster, GrrChe, and Dundalk Dan’s Beef Jerky. The event is free

Mr. Trash Wheel’s Ale Launch at Peabody Heights Brewery

Are you a diehard Mr. Trash Wheel groupie? You might want venture out of the neighborhood this weekend then and experience the release of a beer named after him: Mr. Trash Wheel’s Lost Python Ale. Head to Peabody Heights Brewery on Saturday, April 22 from 7 to 10 p.m. to try the trash-fighting IPA as part of an earth day evening celebration. Tickets are $30 in advance, or $35 at the door (proceeds benefit the Health Harbor Initiative). Tickets include all-you-can-drink Peabody Heights brews, live music, and a limited edition Mr. Trash Wheel glass.

Dockbar Opening Weekend at Boathouse

We’ve all missed those afternoons spent by the waterfront, sipping orange crushes at Boathouse’s Dock Bar. The glorious Dock Bar opens for the warmer weather this weekend, beginning Friday April, 21, and you’re invited to break it in. The weekend includes live music, DJs, oyster shuckers, giveaways, an Instagram dog contest, and a Bloody Mary bar. On Sunday, April 23, tickets to the Dock Bar VIP tent (with unlimited oysters and draft beer) will be sold for $25 to benefit Living Classrooms.
