This weekend signals the start of some DeLIGHTful events: bourbon and beer tasting, Privateering, Emporiyumming, and of course, Light Citying. Let there be light, Canton, because it’s the weekend!

Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival at Timonium Fairgrounds

Sample some of life’s greatest things to roll into a delightful weekend: beer, bourbon, and BBQ. Head to the Timonium Fairgrounds for the Beer, Bourbon & BBQ festival Friday, March 31 to Saturday, April 1. Tickets, which range from $39 to $99, include a souvenir glass and all-you-care-to-taste beer and bourbon tastes (there are 40 bourbons and 60 beers to sample from). There are also barbecue selections from vendors on site, rock music, and seminars.

Light Night Canton

Light City will set Baltimore aglow beginning this weekend. Whether you are planning to attend Labs@LightCity next week, or simply walking the lighted trail one evening, there’s lots of light to plan for. Kick off your Light City right by heading to Light Night Canton at Dypski Park (1225 S. Ellwood) on Saturday, April 1 from 6 to 10 p.m. The event features the interactive sculpture “bMORE Bridges of Peace” and music by DJ Stylo. There will also be kid-friendly activities like face painting with local artist Ania Milo Swann, and a “Light ‘em up” Costume Contest and Parade. Children, and adults, are encouraged to dress in their favorite glow-in-the-dark or lighted attire. All attendees receive a free, lighted gift.

The Emporiyum Baltimore at Inner Harbor

Take a break from lights this weekend and instead entertain a different sense: taste. The Emporiyum is setting up shop again in Baltimore to offer a unique food marketplace full of wild and mouth-watering food options to taste and purpose. Emporiyum Baltimore is held on Saturday and Sunday, April 1 and 2 form 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There’ll be tunes from a DJ, plus sips and samples. Tickets are $15 to $40 depending on your time of entry.

13th Annual Privateer Festival in Fell’s Point

Argghh you ready to dress and talk like a pirate? Steer toward the 13th Annual Privateer Festival this weekend, April 1 and 2, in Fell’s Point. The historic district will be transformed with a full scale land invasion of living history, music, dance, kid’s activities, arts, crafts, food and libations.
